How this works

Every practice test is a full, timed test in the real IELTS format: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Pick Academic or General Training above — Listening and Speaking are the same exam in both, so only Reading and Writing Task 1 change. Reading is marked against the band table for the test you chose, because General Training needs more correct answers than Academic for the same band. Listening and Reading are marked when you submit and you get a band straight away. The material was written for this site to match the real exam's length and difficulty. It is not published exam content.

For Writing and Speaking, paste your own free Google AI Studio key. The site grades your essays and runs a spoken interview using Google's Gemini model, prompted with the public IELTS band descriptors. The band it gives is a practice estimate, not an official score.

There is no server and no account. Your answers, your key and your recordings stay in your browser, and your key goes only to Google. An independent software engineer built this as a personal project.
